Cat Temper is the alias of Mike Langlie, an American multi instrumental musician from Boston, Massachusetts. Langlie has played in both solo and band projects for over 30 years and his music has been heard in many TV shows on networks such as MTV, Comedy Central and Nickelodeon.
The Cat Temper outfit began it’s musical endeavor in 2019 and has since released twelve albums ranging from imaginary sci-fi and horror soundtracks to a complete re-score for David Lynch’s “Eraserhead.” His music catalogue and song titles are inspired by a combination of cat-related wordplay and tributes to renowned musical figures, including Meat Loaf (Cat Out of Hell), Nine Inch Nails (Kitty Hate Machine), and currently Duran Duran (Furio.)
Langlie takes influence from the iconic music of the 1980s, blending styles such as Synthpop, Electro, Punk, and Hair Metal with 8-bit video game sounds to create an alluring blend. His resulting musical style sits on the fringes of the current Synthwave movement in a genre his fans have named “Meowave.”
