Jetfire Prime is an electronic music project founded by Mike Evans, a British producer born in Chester who lived in North Wales for several years before moving to Liverpool in 2000. Currently based in the vibrant UAE city of Dubai as of about 3 years ago, Mike has been making music in several bands for around 30 years but started making synthwave when he launched Jetfire Prime in 2018
Mike describes the Jetfire Prime sound as either retrowave or synthwave, capturing the earlier, more chilled-out sounds of the scene. Born in the 70s, Mike is heavily influenced by the pop culture of his 80s childhood, especially the movie and TV theme tunes from that era. Soundtracks from movies such as “Fletch” and “Transformers: The Movie” (1986), as well as from shows like Knight Rider, Airwolf, and The A-Team, have had a particularly significant impact on him.
