For designers, finding fonts that work together to capture the aesthetic of an age can be quite daunting, especially when trying to avoid clichéd, overused fonts. Boucherie captures the lively essence of 19th-century French advertising typography, offering a variety of unique designs instead of mere historical replicas. By utilising Boucherie, one can create typographic compositions that strike a balance between novelty and familiarity.
Boucherie presents four unique display types, along with ornaments, catchwords, and frames that harmoniously enhance each other. Key features of Boucherie include low-slanted horizontals and generously sized bowls which provide understated visual hints. This font encapsulates a sophisticated and polished interpretation of 19th-century French typography and lettering. Laura Worthington has specifically coded all her fonts to enable easy access to swashes, alternates, and ornaments without the necessity for professional design software. Boucherie also supports over 100 languages from Albanian to Zulu, along with web versions.
