Video is a typeface that captures the spirit of arcade lettering, striking a balance between its 1970s roots and the crisp, mechanical style of late 20th-century techno/pop design. Its precise and geometric nature makes it well-suited for both digital and print use, including small-scale applications and eye-catching headlines. The typeface comes in two widths and five weights, featuring small capitals, biform characters, various number sets (including enclosed and superscript), automatic fractions, and an array of symbols. The fonts support most Latin-based languages, as well as Cyrillic and Greek scripts, making them Pan-European.

Patrick Griffin, a founding member of Canada Type in Toronto, serves as the creative director. He devotes his time to typeface design, typography education, writing about the subject, and assisting fellow designers. Canada Type was founded in 2004 by experienced designers who were unsatisfied with the quality of fonts available for licensing at the time. Since then, the studio has grown considerably, developing an extensive retail catalogue and helping numerous designers achieve international recognition in this competitive field.

Whilst showcasing their diverse font collection online remains crucial for Canada Type Studio, their primary focus lies in providing bespoke services across various sectors locally, nationally, and globally for over two decades. These services cater to industries ranging from marketing, finance, and services to major film studios, software corporations, and telecom-broadcast companies. The studio takes pride in creating custom fonts specifically tailored to meet each client’s unique requirements.
