“Design is intelligence made visible.”
Alina Wheeler
Alina Wheeler has been a pioneer in graphic design for over two decades. Her work is known for its bold and often unexpected use of color and typography. Alina’s strong sense of identity and deep understanding of branding have been translated into a uniquely identifiable style that sets her apart from other designers. She has always been an artist at heart, but her vision has also been grounded in the business world.
Wheeler’s style can be described as pioneering and her love for printing was apparent from the beginning. In her very first professional gig at the age of 19, she brought to life a campaign for pharmaceutical company Apotex, for which she developed the iconic “Silhouette” logo.
As time went on, she developed many other logos and visual identities for the company, and her very recognizable style soon followed. When she founded Alina S. Wheeler Creative, a full service design firm, she came up with the line, “Alina S. Wheeler is a graphic designer who creates corporate identity work.” Alina may be the poster child for business branding, but that wasn’t her first love.
Alina Wheeler was known for being dedicated and in love with the design process. She began designing for clients such as the U.S. Embassy and the U.S. Trade and Development Agency right after she graduated from high school. This early experience allowed her to establish her own identity within the graphic design industry and established the foundation for her work today.
While her career has gone far beyond just graphic design, it’s Alina’s primary work that still piques the interest of graphic designers. She has a truly versatile palette that seamlessly takes her from a beautiful display of watercolors to a simple and clear Helvetica for the branding of a large corporation.
