Tuesday Type is a fortnightly feature showcasing a chosen font. Today’s type is Fractul by Adam Ladd Design
Fractul is a typeface belonging to the Konnect family that has been designed with geometric forms, classical proportions, a high x-height and an open aperture to give it an architectural look. It can be used for modern design projects as well as traditional ones. This font style introduces interesting design elements. The letters ‘a, f, g, t and y’ have been reimagined to give it a more angular and modern look. However, certain characteristics of the original typeface can still be seen in these letters.
Fractul Alt is part of the same font family and has unique rectangular shapes for some of its letters, including ‘M’ and ‘N’. Using this font will add an edgy look to your content and give it a modern twist. Through experimenting with both Fractul families, you can find the right combination for your project.
Fractul includes many OpenType features:
- Multiple stylistic alternates (6 stylistic sets)
- Standard and discretionary ligatures
- Case-sensitive punctuation for All Caps
- Fractions, numerators, denominators
- Superscript, subscript
- Slashed zero
The Fractul font family provides a total of 36 OpenType (.otf) fonts from Hairline to Black, including italics with over 600 glyphs. Furthermore, users of this font have access to complete Latin language support for Western, Central & South Eastern European languages.
