Tuesday Type is a fortnightly feature showcasing a chosen font. Today’s type is Nostromo by Great Scott
Imagine it’s the year 2099 and a merger has formed between two multinational conglomerates who dabble in space colonisation and research. Perhaps Nostromo would be their branded typeface. Inspired by the fictional spaceship of the same name and the famous sci-fi movies it featured in, Nostromo is a futuristic display typeface in several weights and styles. Nostromo also comes with stylistic alternatives on several letters. The font also includes multilingual support (basic latin, Western European, Central European, south eastern european), numbers and punctuation.
Great Scott is a Swedish one-person agency run by Daniel Feldt. With a focus on display typefaces with a retro feel. Great Scott Design Studio also helps out with user interface design and user experience design. Although Great Scott’s clients and projects vary in size and type, Feldt has over 20 years of experience designing for some of Sweden’s biggest companies and brands. Whether it be for the web, a mobile app or a gaming console interface, name a viewport and they’ve probably designed for it.
